Get out!

I have a hard time caring that it's obvious I just woke up from a nap in this picture, OR that John couldn't seem to coordinate taking the picture while smiling at the same time, OR that he caught the parked cars rather than the pretty view of our apt complex behind us. This was the second day we had decent weather and got to go on a walk! Boy does that make us just itch for some real Spring weather.

P.S. Take note that my sunglasses are on top of my head and not my face. Good weather does not necessarily include the sun up here in PA.

Baby prep

John and I got a registry started for the baby. After the second trip to the store, I finally figured out how to get the car seat off the base. John did a little price comparing and decided that it would be much more reasonable to buy a crib at that store rather than Williams-Sonoma. We're on our way to being well prepared parents!

Precious buddy

This is a picture that John's mom gave him framed a few years ago for Christmas. John was being her study buddy and at the time, she was pregnant with his sister, Meredith. He was such a cutie!

Sour Cream Pound Cake

I made this pound cake a few weeks ago for our church lunch. Yummy! It's a recipe from a Paula Deen cookbook. I talked my mom into letting me "borrow" it when we were there for Christmas. I just love the crunchy part on the top!

Grandmother Paul's Sour Cream Pound Cake
1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
3 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
6 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter and sugar together; add sour cream. Sift flour and baking soda together. Add to creamed mixture, alternately with eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan and bake for 1 hour 20 minutes.

Just had to...

I'm not one to talk politics. So I think this cartoon can make the statement for me.

Where did this come from?

Wowee, this baby is growing! The only problem is this double chin that seems to be growing right along with it. Denise Austin doesn't seem to address that in the pregnancy workout DVD I recently bought either.

Baby's first picture

Here's Baby Sharpe's debut. Cutie, huh? First of all, no, we did not find out the gender of the baby. I can't tell you that it wasn't a little tempting though.
Our little buddy was being shy so this was the best picture that the ultrasound lady could get. Baby Sharpe was having fun sitting indian style, stretching out it's legs after I was allowed to empty my bladder, and we even got to see him/her drinking amniotic fluid! How funny is that? But there was no face to be seen. He/she kept it hidden and facing the other direction the whole time.
The hardest part about not knowing the baby's gender is that I hate calling the baby "it". Any ideas of nicknames would be greatly appreciated!
