Summer is a comin'
The truth is that summer is already here for us. It has been blazing hot for a few weeks now and we look for any chance to play in the water. Even "Baby" needed to cool off on this day!

Rock-a-bye baby
It's so special to see Lillie caring for her baby dolls, but very hard to catch on camera! Here's a short clip where she's singing the nursery rhyme "Rock-a-bye baby" to put her doll to sleep. It tends to come out "rocky....treetops!" and is just absolutely so sweet. She also loves to play "Ring around the roses" at church with all of the other girls. They make it look so fun that you can often find a boy or two (and even adults) joining in. And, of course, everyone has to fall down at the end.

Dis and Dat
I still haven't come to grips with the fact that I will never be a routine blogger. So I consider you a very good friend (or more likely an obsessed grandmother) if you are still reading this blog. I'm not going to give up on it just yet. I take too many pictures to just let them sit on my hard drive.
In family news, I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant with a boy (due July 21st)! All of us, including Lillie, are super excited about a little brother coming along. We haven't completely decided on a name either. Things are just much more laid back with this baby.
Lillie is at the point where her language is developing every day. Her hilarious vocabulary inspired this post. Actions and objects these days are described as being either "dis" or "dat" and "me do" everything. She loves to sing along to nursery rhymes by starting out with one syllable and simply holding it until the next phrase of the song. It's so off key, but absolutely the sweetest thing! She also adores babies (which makes it hard to tell her, "Lillie, I know you love the baby, but it can't breathe") and even my belly. Many people ask if she understands that I'm pregnant and I don't really know to what extent she understands, but I have observed how much she adores my belly, calling it baby, and I look forward to seeing the bond that she develops with her little brother.
We have had a lot of fun with friends lately too. Since I only have pictures of her on the potty (which hasn't been very successful yet) and pictures with her friends, I decided on showing you the latter. I'll save the others for when potty time is a little more encouraging.
Tea party time with the Fetterly girls, who will sadly be moving away this summer. Jeneva is only 6 weeks younger than Lillie.

First baseball game with Jack...she didn't watch a bit of it, but made sure to cheer when everyone else did. That's my girl!

LaLaLa
This video is a few months old and Lillie's language has really developed a lot, especially recently. I had to post this because it just makes me laugh to hear (and see) her say her name!

Yoohoo...anybody there?
Sorry about disappearing on ya'll. I promise we haven't been sitting around hiding. We've been up to plenty of stuff. Honestly, the only reason I'm blogging right now is because my mother keeps threatening me. So here ya go, Grammy! I hope this picture suits your fancy. Truly though, I do hope to update you all soon.

Lillie language
In the past few weeks Lillie's vocabulary has really blossomed. We are having a lot of fun realizing that she has learned a new word. I'm not really sure if these words are common first words for children, but they're word/things that Lillie comes across a lot and, thus, has learned how to express her favor for them.
Like...
"tee?!" or "pee" please
"dit-dee!" thank you
"mowa?!" more
"shheeewwwss" shoes
"pri-ey" pretty
"ball-ball" ball
"ah-pull" apple
"goo-kee" Cookie Monster
"op!" up
Of course, no matter how much I encourage her to say dog she still uses "arf" for dog. Who would want to say the word when they could just make the noise?
